To mark 50 years in the USA, STIHL released a limited edition MS 271 FARM BOSS.
The only difference between the 50th Anniversary version and the regular MS 271 (pictured above) is the design on the 20″ bar.
The listing on Ace Hardware says:
To celebrate 50 years of innovation, the 50th Anniversary Edition of the MS 271 FARM BOSS is a mighty boss of a chainsaw with a unique, patriotic design.
STIHL commemorated its 50th anniversary of U.S. manufacturing operations in October 2024, marking a significant milestone since its establishment in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1974.
Over the past five decades, the company has evolved from assembling a single chainsaw model in a 20,000-square-foot facility to becoming a major manufacturer of both gasoline and battery-powered equipment.
Today, STIHL Inc. operates on a sprawling 150-acre campus with over 1.4 million square feet of operating space and employs more than 2,700 individuals.

Take that bar off and keep it wrapped up and save it for a garage show piece and put you a Sugi or standard oem bar on there.
One day your kids or someone’s kid will be thrilled to find that cool piece of chainsaw memorabilia still in new condition.
I did the same with the bar off my dad’s old 026 that says “Made in West Germany” on it. Can’t get one of those anymore!
