Husqvarna has announced its first fuel-injected chainsaw, the 564 XP.
It’s set to be released in the UK on the 13th of October 2025.
The listing price is £1,349.00 or £1,399.00 for the 564 XP G, the version with heated handles.
The Swedish site Skogs Forum got an early model to test out and said:
The 564XP(G) is the most groundbreaking chainsaw ever from Husqvarna.
By using fuel injection technology and a completely new engine layout, we have enhanced and improved more or less every feature of a chainsaw.
The 564XP(G) has the power of a 70cc with the size and feel of a 50cc.
It offers superb starting ability, fantastic and consistent throttle response, and among the lowest vibrations we’ve ever measured.

Here’s how Husqvarna describes the saw:
Fuel injected 60cc professional chainsaw with instant acceleration
Husqvarna 564 XP is a groundbreaking 60cc chainsaw for forestry and tree care professionals seeking cutting-edge performance.
Combining the size and manoeuvrability of a 50cc chainsaw with the power of a 70cc, it delivers an outstanding power-to-weight ratio in a compact body.
Experience an innovative combination of advanced technologies, including the fuel injection system and a new engine for instant acceleration and maximised productivity throughout the workday.
Furthermore, the user experience is refined with an easy starting procedure and low vibrations, reducing strain on your body.

These are the 18 listed features:
- Fuel injection
- Simple start technology
- Outboard clutch for improved balance
- Short stroke engine
- Slimmed-down design
- Lightweight muffler
- Ability to carry longer bars
- Magnetic filter protects the engine
- Air Injection filters 98% of incoming dust

- Snap-lock cylinder cover
- 2K moulded fuel window
- LowVib®
- X-CUT® Chain
- Captive bar nuts
- Felling sight to last a lifetime
- Improved serviceability
- Made for professional use
And they describe fuel injection like this:
The fuel injection technology provides a more dynamic fuel delivery than a carburettor engine, allowing faster adaptation to various conditions and increased performance.
The design stays lightweight and slim with fewer components in the air filter area, while also providing a quicker throttle response, higher productivity, and improved fuel efficiency.

MS400.1 is 3.9 kW and 5.6 kg dry so has a kw/kg of .69. 564 XP is 4.0 kW and 5.8 kg dry so has a kw/kg of .69.
This is going to be interesting for sure!
And:
The 562XP Mk II is a superb saw. Putting it head to head with its true current model competition, the 400.1 is a little monster of a saw and stock vs stock, it has the edge on the 562XP on weight which means it beats the 562XP squarely on power to weight ratio. That’s all important in this category of saws, really.
So getting the 564XP to market had to be the priority over a kind of weird and awkward 80cc ‘class’ entrant going against the MS500i. And I’m expecting the 564XP to knock the smile off a few folks faces when they put it against a 400.1 – a stunner of a saw, like I said.
And yeah, I lean towards Swedish saws as that’s what I know best, but this is good for everyone. Seeing the two leading saw manufacturers get into a pissing match with each other that results in some big improvements in tech getting into our hands is only a good thing for all of us, no matter which brand or model you might ultimately decide upon.
It’s only a matter of time before a ‘war’ in the 60cc category bleeds into the 70 and ultimately 90cc sized power heads. And who doesn’t want more power in the same sized saw? Stihl have had the MS500i on the market for years now already – Where is their fuel injected 661?
It has to be somewhere in the works. If they can improve on that (great) saw, better for the rest of us too. Then Husqvarna will HAVE TO do something and push out a 594XP or whatever.
More power. Give me more power in the same weight. That’s what I want. The race is on!

I’m curious why they went with a 60cc saw rather than an 80cc saw to compete directly with Stihl?
Should a real screamer, the 562XP is already a pretty mean saw.
See the new 564 XP running in the following video from Skogsforum.se.
🔥 This is big news in the chainsaw world: the Husqvarna 564 XP G Fuel Injection – the first Husqvarna chainsaw ever to feature fuel injection instead of a carburetor.
We got an early hands-on test and can share our first impressions of the power, acceleration, and new tech – including ShortStroke, the new ECU setup, and the updated ignition module.
The 564 XP G is designed to combine the power of a 70cc saw with the agility of a 50cc. Will this chainsaw reshape the entire 60cc class?
